Free Ads for the rest of April

Call me crazy, but I want to add some more vehicle ads to the TrustInRust website.  For the rest of this month, I am offering free American Austin and Bantam car and project ads to the first ten people to contact me and provide all of the necessary information regarding listing their vehicle.  If you’d like to take advantage of this offer, contact me at rg171352@hotmail.com.  I will need some photos of your car, a brief description, a price, and a location.

If you are one of the ten people, you will get a free 6 month ad on this site.  This offer expires at 11:59 pm (EST) on April 30, 2016.

Update (4/22/2016):  All free ads spoken for, please check back as I post them.  Check out these Panel trucks:  Austin Bantam

First Glimpse at the Shopping List

For the past while, I have been hoping to add a “shopping list” of sorts to this page to enable us to save as many Bantam parts as possible from the scrap heap at swap meets and the like.  Below is a preview of the first section I have started working on.  I am hoping to catalogue most of the parts of our cars in this manner, including OEM and replacement parts.  I have not yet decided how I will make this list available, although I am considering providing it as a free view-able list on this website which can be ordered in hard copy for those without internet access.

As for the photos, I will try to use as many of my own photos as possible, but there are a lot of pieces for which I don’t have the parts to take the photos.  So, for those pieces, I will likely need to ask for your help.  What do you think?  Do you like this idea?

Bantam Hub Cap

Usually, these have way more curb rash and spiral burns which make these hubcaps very difficult to restore. If you’re looking for a decent driver or a nice hubcap to restore, this is the one for you.

At this point, I am still considering screen printing plain baby moons for my car as the restoration work on a hub cap is a bit too much for me to take on at this point.

Friday morning finds

Do you have a gaping oval hole in your dashboard?  Don’t feel bad, it happens to a lot of us.  A seller in Pennsylvania is selling a 1936 Hupmobile gauge which will fit that hole perfectly.  As has been discussed here before, the Bantam gauges were based off of the 1935-1936 Hupmobile gauges.  However, the gauges installed in Bantam civilian cars featured three gauges, choosing to abandon the temperature gauge.  In the BRC’s, Bantam went to a quad gauge, but the placement of the temperature and oil pressure gauges were reversed.

Let’s make a shopping list

Certain Bantam and Austin parts are exceedingly rare.  There are a lot of times that we go to car shows with great flea markets, but end up passing over items that we either don’t need or don’t recognize.  What that means is that there are a some great parts slipping through our fingers at car shows which we could all be helping to preserve.  Maybe you don’t need the part, but if you can get it for the right price, we can try to get it to a good home.

Some people have come up with lists of certain Bantam goodies, however, those lists aren’t widely circulated.  Please join me in creating the ultimate shopping list for a Bantam or Austin enthusiast to make sure that the parts our cars need to keep running don’t end up in landfills.

Using the “Contact Us” tab, please feel free to begin sending in photos and information.  I hope this helps!
