The American Austin cars from 1930-1935 were generally equipped with a hard rubber ball of about 1.25″ in diameter.  Original knobs included a steel insert with a flange on the bottom edge.  This knob is polished hard plastic with a brass insert which has had its threads modified to fit the American Austin shift lever.  Exact size of ball is comparable to original unit.  $15 each.
